This is a poem that one of our students wrote.
Today we went to Whatley Quarry,
On the way there we saw a lorry,

This is a poem that one of our students wrote
This is a poem that one of our students wrote.
Whatley Quarry
Today we went to Whatley Quarry,
On the way there we saw a lorry,
The lorry we saw belongs to Hanson,
I thought to me it looked so handsome,
We met a lady called Dr. O,
She did a sort of little show,
To tell us what the Quarry did,
And that the lorries have a lid,
To keep the dust from coming out,
And they are good I do not doubt,
I learnt a new word called encapsulation,
This stops the dust going round the station,
The limestone is used for glass and roads,
And in the water which may have toads,
We saw an explosion which was cool,
It looked like a wave or a water pool,
We went back to study in class,
And brushed our welly-boots on the grass,
We then got back onto the bus,
And travelled off in a big rush.
