“We looked hard and long for help for our daughter and despite the efforts of teachers in the State sector she was overshadowed in class and intimidated by other pupils.

The prospect of our daughter moving too a large senior school was to much; she would have been lost and not received the education she needed. Edington and Shapwick recognised her as an individual not as someone with dyslexia, valuing her strengths and genuinely helping her to learn those things that she had previously struggled to learn.

Her confidence has increased enormously and she talks very positively about her time at school.

With her being a boarder at so young an age the boarding house and especially the house parents had to shine. The house parents shone well above others we had met. The boarding house was homely and well kept. We all liked the atmosphere that was created due to the house parent’s hard work. Both house parents were very approachable and made our daughter feel very welcome. Which has made the difficult separation easier."
