“Dear Mr. Walker and Mr. Whittock,
It has been some time since we have been in
touch as unfortunately, our paths have not crossed since Joscelyn left your
school 1999. On leaving Shapwick, he
joined us in Hong Kong, where he attended South Island School and successfully
completed his sixth form schooling with two A Levels, achieving a level ‘A’ in
Art and a ‘C’ in Design Technology. He then attended Falmouth School of Art where
he completed the Foundation Course in Fine Arts. After a year at the University of East London,

are delighted with his efforts and felt that we should share his achievements
with you, as there is no doubt that it was your help and guidance, early on in
his schooling, that set him on the road to his current academic success.
With best wishes,
Philip and Vanessa Bingham”

"I am very impressed with what Edington and
Shapwick has done for my two boys. The older brother was unable to participate
in most things needed for school life. He could not read and did not understand
the +, -, * signs so maths was an impossibility. He left with 7 GCSE’s, went
on to college where he boarded and coped completely. Got his qualifications and
went on to a full time job, living away from home, cooking for himself and
organising his own finances (including telling me I should be putting my
savings into an ISA).

I feel this was all down to Edington and
Shapwick helping him to be positive and to get on with it. I never thought he
would be able to leave home and now look what he has achieved! Thank you

“My son was on the verge of becoming
disruptive and had very low self esteem. It broke my heart at prize giving, as
even though he worked harder than most students he knew he would never get a
prize. Finding out he was bottom of the class in most subjects was the final
straw and he became desperately unhappy. Edington and Shapwick has changed all
of that and given my son his life back and a future to look forward to. As a
parent it has been hard to send him to a boarding school but seeing the change
it has been worth it. My son is now a confident, mature, caring boy who looks forward to going to school and
knows he can be successful.”
P. Bowen, <st1:date year="2007" day="19" month="10">19th October, 2007</st1:date>
